Reducing Jumpy Mouth Movements as a Character Talks
After a talking script is applied to the character the mouth starts to move with different lip shapes called Visemes. However, the algorithm for generating the visemes is unbiased, sometimes leading to jumpy redundancy. With the Lip Sync Options panel, these jumpy issues can be solved.
Generating Visemes
-
Apply a G6 character made by iClone Character Creator.Note:
Even though Heidi and Mason are G6 character as well, they are not generated from iClone Character Creator.
- Apply an audio file to the character as its voice.
-
Check out the timeline, find the Viseme track under the character. You will see a lot of visemes are
automatically added into the Lips sub track.
-
Play back to view the result, you will find the mouth movements may sometimes be jumpy, which is caused by
the intensively clustered visemes.
Reducing Lip Keys
In order to reduce the redundant lip keys (Visemes), you can follow the steps below:
-
On the Lips track, right click in the empty space to show the
right-click menu.
-
Click on the Reduce Lip Keys command.
-
The redundant lip keys included within the clip in the track will be hidden.
-
Play back and the jumpy issue will be solved.
