G3 360 Character (New for v4.4)
The default G3 360 (generation 3 with 360 head) characters are created with Cartoon Animator Version 4, or above.
They are built with fixed regulated bone structures, while the head is fully rotatable 360 degrees. Therefore, motions can be exchanged between them if they are of the same species, and the head can look around with or without sprite switch animations.
The theory of the G3 360 characters is based on the G3 Bone-rig technique with 360-degree head.
- 360 Head - The head is composed of different images, which creates 360 illusions through Transformation, Deformation , Sprite Switch, Mask and Layer Ordering techniques.
- Body - The body generating method is basically the same as G3 characters.
- Cartoon Animator first subdivides the loaded image into numerous triangles.
- Afterwards, Cartoon Animator calculates the influence weights for each endpoint of the triangles in accordance with their distance to the adjacent bones.
- When the bones offset or rotate by IK or FK methods, the image will then be driven to distort and animate.
- Cartoon Animator first subdivides the loaded image into numerous triangles.
The G3 360 characters are divided into G3 360 Human, G3 360 Animals, G3 360 Spine, G3 360 Wings, and G3 360 Free Bone.
In the G3 360 Human library, you will find Front (0 degree), Side (-45 degrees) and Side (-90 degrees) for each character, and two special Back (-/+180 degrees) and Back Side (-135 degrees) characters to demonstrate diverse motion angles.
You can apply them according to your needs.
The characters in the sub-folder Dummy for 3D Motion in diverse angles, Front (0 degree), Front Side (-45 degrees), Side (-90 degrees), Back Side (-135 degrees) and Back (-/+180 degrees), are specially designed in 1:1 bone scale for demonstrating the standard 3D motions. Exporting motions performed by these dummies can bring motion retargeting data to other G3 Human characters in different body sizes and proportions.
The thumbnails and paths of the characters are as described in the table below:

The embedded G3 360 characters can only use the motions that are specially created for them or the imported 3D motions. They CANNOT be applied with 2D or 3D motions for G2 characters because these motions are especially made for them.
For the G3 360 characters, they are compatible with the template motions that are created for them in the library.
