Basic Modifications for Makeup

The basic modifications for texture involves with adjustments merely through drop-down list, color swatch and sliders. This method can be applied to the blush, lips, eyeliners and eyeshadow; however, in this section, the character's Eyeshadow is taken as an example.

  1. Create a new character and optionally adjust the facial features of the character to define the age of the character (in this case, a young girl).
  2. Go to the Modify (panel) >> Appearance (tab).
  3. Select the Actor in the tree view.
  4. Click the Activate button at the top-right of the panel to show the sections of adjustable parameters belonging to the character.

    Note:

Each character contains multiple substance materials; while each of them are composed of numerous parameters and images, which can increase the loading time if the details of the substance materials are initially displayed. Therefore, the settings inside are, by default, hidden. You need to click the Activate in order to open the substance material for further adjustments.

  5. Select the desired sub node under the Actor (in this case, the RL_G6_Body >> Skin_Head >> Cosmetic). The related sections of settings are listed at the right pane in the panel.
  6. Open the desired section (in this case, the Eyeshadow section).
  7. Determine the eyeshadow style by choosing values from the five drop-down lists.

As you may see the result is too heavy to be suitable for her age.

  8. Use the color swatches to make the eyeshadows brighter.

  9. Find the sliders in this section, they belong to the different masks forming the eyeshadow. Each mask contains 3 sliders, Blending, Opacity and Specularity.

Increase the values of the Blending, decrease the values of the Opacity and leave the Specularity untouched to make the eyeshadow even lighter for a young girl.

    Blending: 0.00 ð 0.60
    Opacity: 0.30 ð 0.10
