Topology / Mesh Enhancements (New for v3.3)

CC3 Base+ character are composed of evenly-distributed quad faces and ideal edge-loops for smooth animation and deformations.

Head and Body

  • Loop Rings
    • Evenly-distributed quad surfaces and perfect edge-loops allow for smooth facial expressions and body animations.
    • 3D sculptors can also rejoice as the mesh is easier to subdivide and smooth without defects.
  • Topology for Animation and Morphs:
    • One mesh effectively adapted to all kinds of character shapes.
    • Joint Rings (blue) are designed for posing and animation
    • Muscle Lines (magenta) are referenced for major joints, muscles, and feature alignments. Optimized quad for subdivision sculpting (13,580 face).
    • Color marks on CC3+ topology are designed as feature landmarks for character modelers, ZBrush artists (GoZ), or retopologized characters from scanned models.
    • Based on this technique, 12 base characters of different styles can be found in the Content Manager.

Parts

  • Hands: CC3 Base+ characters have better Hand and Nail shape for close-up shots due to newly added Morph Sliders.
  • Eyes:
    • Tear Line and Occlusion meshes adhere to the eyelids for realistic eyes with Digital Human Eye Shader.
    • More mesh definitions are generated for the eyes and crease lines are optimized for blinking.
