Synchronizing FPS for Mocapping
After motion capturing for body, facial expression and hands, occasionally, the captured clips becomes oddly fast and slow pace. This is due to the different FPS among the mocap software, Motion Live and iClone project settings. Please follow the steps to correct the issues.
- Capture motions through desired device (Vicon, for example) with the Motion Live plugin without any FPS adjustments.

- Select the captured motion and playback.
Open the Curve Editor, as you can see the motion goes fast and slow by turns caused by the flat curve.
-
To solve the issue, go to the mocap software and find out the Timecode FPS.

- Enter the TCFPS number for the device in the Motion Live plugin to synchronize the FPS found in previous step.

- Capture the motion again. The fast and slow issues are eliminated because the flat curve issues are solved.
- Check out the curve in the Curve Editor, as you can see, many keys on the curve fall between frames.

- Open the Project Settings panel, set the project FPS to the same value.

As you can see the keys now correctly locate on the timeframes.
