Grouping Rules for G3 Characters and Props
When a G3 character or a prop is exported into an image editor in PSD format, the sprites in the Composer Mode will turn into group layers.
In addition, the elements in the sprites will be converted into different image layers as well in the image editor.
After the structure of the exported PSD is changed in the image editor as shown below, then the group name can be renamed with specific prefix to let Cartoon Animator
to treat this group in a certain way.
- All the layers under "+" prefixed groups will be flattened and the sprite of the object will be updated accordingly in Cartoon Animator.
The object is updated according to what you see in the image editor. - Groups with "-" prefix will be eliminated from the sprite list of the object in Cartoon Animator.
Note:
Using the "-" prefix is a good way to design multiple assets for one character while keeping them all in one PSD file, however, you can only export one item at a time to Cartoon Animator. Refer to the Creating Different Fashions Styles with Grouping Rules section for more information.
- Layout groups with no "+" or "-" prefix will be treated as the elements of the sprite in Cartoon Animator.
You will only see the first layer of each group.Note:Make sure to rasterize the image layer before saving the project to flatten all layer effects. Otherwise, the application-specific effects will be ignored in Cartoon Animator.
