Default Key Tangent Section

In this section of the Preference panel, you can determine the default tangent types for newly added keys, including the ones in the Transform and Motion / Animation Layer tracks.

Setting Default Key Tangent

1. Open the Preference panel (Ctrl + P).
2. Scroll down to the Default Key Tangent section.
3. Click on either of the cells to change the default key tangent.
4. Add transform or layer keys and play back to check the results.
   Note:

   Hover the mouse cursor over the keys and you will see the tip of the key read "Default".
   

Displaying Key Tangent Type in Curve Editor

If you have purchased and installed Curve Editor plug-in, then you can observe the visualized Tangent Type for the keys.

1. After the default key tangent is set, add transform or layer keys to the object.
2. Right click on the Transform or Layer tracks to open the Curve Editor.
3. Show the curves to view the tangent types.
