How to create transitions between clips
In iClone, the transition motion or animation between two clips is determined by a transition range ahead of the latter clip.
In iClone 8.0, the transition range can be found at the start and end of every clip, which increase the flexibility for setting the weight of the transitions between two adjacent clips.
Transition Patterns
There are several ways of creating effective transition patterns:
*The transition speed is determined by the number of frames between the lower triangles, and always follows a linear progression.
Diagram for Transitions
There are four draggable triangles for each clip. You can drag them wherever you want.
- Fade In Start: The start frame for the fade-in transition. Weight of First Pose = 0.
- Fade In End: The end frame for the fade-in transition. Weight of First Pose = 100.
- Fade Out Start: The start frame for the fade-out transition. Weight of Final Pose = 100.
- Fade Out End: The end frame for the fade-out transition. Weight of Final Pose = 0.
Effective or Ineffective
- When there is only one clip on the track, the weights are ineffective, no matter how you drag them.
- The first pose of the clip will be extended to the start frame of the project; while the final pose of the clip will also be extended to the end frame of the project.
- The strength (white arrow) of the final pose for the former clip decrease from 100 to 0 in the transition area.
- The strength (blue arrow) of the first pose for the latter clip increase from 0 to 100 in the transition area.
- The first pose of the clip will be extended to the start frame of the project; while the final pose of the clip will also be extended to the end frame of the project.
