How to use align feature in Motion Direction Control panel

Motion Direction Control panel provides not only the parameters for setting start position and direction, but also integrates the align feature for position and direction, based on the character's specific bones.

Align - Translation

  1. Apply multiple motions to the character.

    Here, the final position of the last motion shifts from the box.
  2. Select the latter motion on the timeline and press the Motion Direction Control button.
  3. You will see the Motion Direction Control panel show on the screen.
  4. Go to the final frame of the selected motion and switch to the Object Move tool.
  5. Move the current motion clip in order the character lands on the box at the final frame.

    As you can see the entire motion is shifted as well.
  6. Make sure the Motion Direction Control panel is opened and select the former clip in the Timeline.
  7. In the Motion Direction Control panel, choose the Next Clip radio button to indicate the motion clip for being aligned to.
  8. Use the Part and Position drop-down list to pick the base for aligning.
  9. Activate the Translate and / or Rotate checkbox to determine the aligning method - moving, rotating or both (in this case, Rotate only).
  10. Click the Align button to view the result.
  11. Playback to view the result.

Align - Rotation

  1. Apply multiple motions to the character.

    In this case, the latter motion abruptly turns to a different direction.
  2. Make sure the Motion Direction Control panel is opened, on the timeline, select the latter clip.
  3. In the Motion Direction Control panel, choose the Previous Clip radio button to indicate the motion clip for being aligned to.
  4. Use the Part and Position drop-down list to pick the base for aligning.
  5. Activate the Translate and / or Rotate checkbox to determine the aligning method - moving, rotating or both (in this case, Rotate only).
  6. Click the Align button to align the former clip to the latter.
  7. Playback to view the result.
