Importing External Motions

iClone is designed to adapt any external biped character motions in FBX or BVH format. The imported motions can be applied to the character directly, added to the perform list and also stored into the custom motion library.

  1. Apply a standard or humanoid character and make sure it is selected.
  2. Execute File > Import > Import External Motion command.
  3. Select one or more external motion files (in FBX or BVH format).
  4. The Motion Import Settings panel will appear.
    • Motion Profile:
    • Motion T-pose (Optionally): You can load the T-pose produced from the same sources of the imported motions. This setting is optional.
    • Motion Folder: Displays the location of the motion files.
    • FBX Import Settings - Sample Per Second: You can set the sample times in seconds for the motions. The higher the value, the more detailed the imported motion will be.
    • Select Root Bone: Use the drop-down list to choose the root node of the source motion.
    • Auto-generate to perform list: the motions will be inserted into the perform list automatically.
  5. Click the Convert All button. The motions will be imported according to the settings.
    • If only one motion is imported, then it will be applied instantly.
    • You can see the motion in the perform list.
    • The motion will be added into the custom Motion > External Motion library.
