Fixing Motions with Effectors

After you apply a motion to the character by use of Motion Puppet, Direct Puppet or even by Motion Capturing, the motions could be raw and sometimes contain jiggling issues in some body parts. By using the Reach Effector feature, you can pin the body parts so that they stop popping.

  1. Apply a character and a motion.
  2. You probably see that the feet are sliding when the character acts
  3. Open the Reach panel, and with the Ctrl key pressed and hold, select the target body parts (in this case, the both ankles).
  4. Click the Reach Effector button and you will see two Reach keys on the feet tracks on the Timeline are added.

  5. The corresponding effectors will show and the body parts will reach to the effectors automatically.

  6. The feet are pinned to the dummies and will not slide anymore.
