Adjusting Spring Settings for Bones with SPX Files (New for 6.1)

In iClone, the Mass, Strength and Bounciness values in the Spring section are focus on the entire bone-chain that are spring-activated. However, if you want to adjust the spring settings for each bone in the chain, then follow the steps below (these steps apply to both characters or props):

  1. Deploy a bone-skinned and spring-activated object.
  2. In the Modify panel >> Edit tab >> Spring section, click the Save button.
  3. Save the spring settings for each bone as .SPX file.
  4. Open the .SPX file in a text editor of your choice. Notice the 3 sections below:
    1. Header of the .SPX will indicate the version of the file (the latest version is 1.2).
    2. A listing of the bones that have been applied with spring definitions.
    3. The settings of the spring parameter on each bone.
  5. You may then change the values of the settings for desired bone (in this case, the MaxLength values for the Spring03 and Spring04 are set to be 100.00).
  6. Save the edited .SPX file and load it back on the object.
  7. Play back to view the differences of the spring effect.
