Why retarget characters (New for v. 8.4)

To expedite the application of iMDs to characters or to initiate the Motion Director session more quickly, the retargeting process is sometimes bypassed. This can occasionally result in foot sliding for characters of different sizes.

In order to ensure the correct stride distance for each character, manual retargeting is required.

1. Create a project and place some characters.
   
2. Apply identical iMDs to these characters.
3. The characters will start walking with equal stride distances, regardless of their different body proportions and sizes.
   
4. Stop the Motion Director session.
5. Select the characters with the issue.
6. Click the Retarget button for the characters.
   
   or click the Retarget button on the Motion Director toolbar.
   
7. Start the Motion Director mode again. The issues are solved afterward.
