Using Custom Makeup Texture

In the Basic Modification for Makeup section, only the masks, colors and sliders are adjusted to do easy basic editing. However, you may also do the modification with advanced method by replacing the texture or modify the texture in any 3rd party image editor.

Note:

Please note that Customizing Makeup all use gray-scale mask images.

Getting UV Reference Map for Creating Texture

Before creating a custom texture, you need to know the UV deployment of the head. By exporting the UV map, you can easily find the reference for editing or creating texture correctly.

  1. Make sure the character is selected.
  2. Switch the Modify panel to Material tab.
  3. Select the Skin_Head material from the material list.
  4. Click the UV button at the top-right above the list.
  5. The UV map of the selected material will be exported to your favorite image editor (in this case, Photoshop).
  6. You may then use the image as reference for creating a grayscale texture on the lips area.

Replacing Mask Texture

Note:

Please note that you must have purchased Essential Morphs & Skin content pack in order to have the input channel for loading custom images.

  1. Create a new project in iClone Character Creator. Optionally morph the facial features.
  2. Go to the Modify (panel) >> Appearance (tab).
  3. Select the Actor in the tree view and click the Activate button at the top-right of the panel to show the sections of adjustable parameters.
  4. Go to Actor >> RL_G6_Body >> Skin_Head >> Cosmetic >> Lips section.
  5. Double click on the Base icon and load the image prepared in the previous section.

You may not see any changes at this moment because the grayscale image is simply loaded but not applied.
  6. Find the drop-down list belonging to the mask (in this case, Base Mask) and choose the Input to ensure the grayscale image is introduced.

The base color can be seen now but indistinct.
  7. Adjust the Base Color, Blending, Opacity and Specularity sliders to make the color more obvious.
