Installing "iClone Live Link Plug-in" into Unreal

There are two methods to install iClone Live Link Plug-in into Unreal. You can either install via the Reallusion Hub / download site, or install via the Unreal Epic Games Marketplace.

Installing via Reallusion Hub or Download Site

  1. Install Unreal Live Link Plug-in for iClone.
  2. Open the Shared Plugins folder in which the iClone Live Link source files for Unreal are stored: C:\Program Files\Reallusion\Shared Plugins\iClone Unreal Live Link. You will see 4.20, 4.21, 4.22 and 4.23 folders.
  3. Open either one of the folders in accordance with the version of your Unreal (in this case, 4.22). Keep in mind that the file structure in these 3 folders are identical.

  4. Copy the Plugins folder.
  5. Paste this folder into the Unreal specific folders in two tiers:
    • Unreal Engine tier: Paste the folder into the Unreal installed folder C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.22\Engine.

      This step ensures that each project will share and use the same plug-in.
    • Project tier: Paste the folder into the Unreal project folder C:\Users\[User Name]\Documents\Unreal Projects\[Project Name].

      This step ensures that each project can use different but correct versions of iClone Live Link plug-in.
  6. Launch Unreal and you can see the iClone Live Link Plugin on the toolbar.

Installing via Epic Games Marketplace

  1. Launch the Epic Games Launcher and switch to the Marketplace tab.
  2. Type in iClone Unreal Live Link into the search field and you will see the page for the plug-in.
  3. Scroll down and click the Install to Engine button in this page.
  4. Pick your target engine version and click the Install button.
  5. Activate the check box for the License Agreement and click the Accept button.
  6. Wait for the installing procedure to end up.
  7. Launch the Unreal Engine of the target version. In the Plugins panel, you will see the iClone Live Link item in the Installed node.
  8. Activate the Enabled check box and restart the Unreal Engine.
  9. You will see the iClone Live Link button shown on the toolbar, which implies that the plug-in has been successfully installed.
