Retrieving Installed Content

The Content Manager allows you to import installed assets after managing file locations and names. Even if you have moved contents around, renamed some files, or restructured some folders, the Content Manager can still be easily synced by importing from a designated file location.
* Currently, this feature is only available for Cartoon Animator, iClone prior to version 8.52 and Character Creator prior to version 4.52.


If the assets appear uninstalled in Content Manager and any of the following scenarios apply to you, then you are able to manually retrieve the installed assets.

ClosedInconsistent Default Paths

If the contents are installed on the default path, but they appear uninstalled in Content Manager, then follow the steps in this section.

  1. Execute the Content Manager Menu > Sync Installed Assets... command.
  2. Choose the Template Path(s) radio button. Activate the Default checkbox.
  3. Click the Start button and the contents will be retrieved later.
ClosedContents Moved Elsewhere

If the installed contents have been stored in a known folder with initial file structure, then you can follow the steps in this section.

  1. Execute the Content Manager Menu > Sync Installed Assets... command.
  2. Choose the Specific Path radio button. Click the ... button and pick a folder in which the assets are installed.
  3. Since the file structure is left untouched, you can deactivate the Smart Scanning checkbox to accelerate the synchronizing procedure.
  4. Click the Start button.
  5. After the procedure is done, the installed contents will be retrieved and displayed as installed again.
ClosedChanges to File Structure

If the installed contents have been manually moved to a known folder, but the file structure has been changed, then you can follow the steps in this section to sync the files.

  1. Execute the Content Manager Menu > Sync Installed Assets... command.
  2. Choose the Specific Path radio button. Click the ... button and pick a folder in which the assets are installed.
  3. Since the file structure is changed, activate the Smart Scanning checkbox. However, it takes longer to synchronize the assets.
  4. Click the Start button.
  5. After the procedure is done, the installed contents will be retrieved and displayed as installed again.
