Outliner Introduction

The Outliner in the Curve Editor is for displaying object-related nodes with RTS (rotation, translation and scale) curves. You can select one or more nodes in this pane, by working with other features, such as the Outliner Tools, Search Field and Edit Mode (drop-down list). You can also change the display methods of the outliner for easier access to the desired animation curves.
