Tool Types and MD Prop Structures - Actionable, State Switch and Bi-Directional (New in v. 8.5)
In iClone, basic MD props are divided into four main categories: "Actionable", "State Switch", and "Bi-directional".
Actionable
The structure of this type includes only one position point and one Loot-At target. Characters who enter the point will start to perform the behavior motions integrated with the MD prop.
Actionable MD prop in the Scene Manager has only one node, without any sub nodes unless it has been attached with meshes.
- Genuine MD Prop of this type: you can create MD prop of this type through the Create > MD prop menu.
- MD Prop of this type with meshes: You can apply from the library or manually attach more meshes to the prop.
-
Normal mode: Only the position point dummy appears.
- Edit Structure mode: The look-at dummy will also appear.
If you enter the Edit Structure mode, you can see the node list. You can add more dummies or remove unncessary ones.
The behavior motions can be added or deleted in the MD Behavior. Characters stand on the position point can start to perform these motions.
State Switch
The structure of this type includes only one position point. Characters who enter the point will start to enter different state, such as sitting down and so on. The most difference from the Actionable is in the Behavior Motions in the MD prop.
State Switch MD prop on the Scene Manager has only one node, without any sub nodes unless it has been attached with meshes.
The character will switch between current and the other state embedded in the MD prop.
The diagram is as the following illustration:
Bi-Directional
The structure of this type includes two position points facing each other. Characters who enter the points will start to perform the behavior motions integrated with the MD prop.
Bi-Directional MD prop on the Scene Manager has only one node, without any sub nodes unless it has been attached with meshes.
- Genuine MD Prop of this type: you can create MD prop of this type through the Create > MD prop menu.
- MD Prop of this type with meshes: You can apply from the library or manually attach more meshes to the prop.
-
Normal mode: Only the position point dummies appear.
- Edit Structure mode: The look-at dummy will also appear.
If you enter the Edit Structure mode, you can see the node list. You can add more dummies or remove unncessary ones.
Each position point can has its own behavior motions. Characters standing on the poin can perform the included motions.
