Prioritization for Body and Hand Motion Capture
Motion LIVE 2D supports multiple motion capturing devices for giving different Cartoon Animator characters cartoon or human-like motions and facial expressions.
However, there is a certain priorities for the Body and Hand motion capture when the devices for both of them are mounted and utilized.

The prioritization is summarized in the table below:
Finger Bending | Wrist Rotation (Hand Facing) | Elbow Rotation (Elbow Facing) | Shoulder Rotation | ||
| Body Mocap Device Only | Body Mocap Device | X | V | V | V |
Body Mocap Device | Body Mocap Device | X | X | X | X |
Hand Mocap Device | V | V | V | V | |
Body Mocap Device | Body Mocap Device | X | X | X | V |
Hand Mocap Device | V | V | V | X | |
Body Mocap Device | Body Mocap Device | X | X | V | V |
Hand Mocap Device | V | V | X | X | |
Body Mocap Device | Body Mocap Device | X | V | V | V |
Hand Mocap Device | V | X | X | X |
- If you use Perception Neuron as your body mocap device, it is highly recommended that you also capture hand motions with Perception Neuron Gloves.
- For more information about Control Mode for the Hand Mocap Device, please refer to the Allocating Controlling Range section.
If there is only the body mocap device mounted on your computer,
then there is no priority issue.
The hand flipping and arm rotations will be completely controlled by this device.

If you mount a hand mocap device and set it to Upper Arm IK Mode,
then it will have higher priority than the body mocap device.

When the hand motion device is set to Forearm IK Mode,
then the rotation of the shoulders will be released and be controlled by the Body Mocap Device.

When the hand motion device is set to Hand Mode,
then the rotation of the elbows and shoulders will be released and be controlled by the Body Mocap Device.

If you use Perception Neuron with its Gloves for Body Mocap and Hand Mocap,
the rotation from shoulders to wrists will be controlled by Perception Neuron.

If the hand mocap device is set to Finger Mode,
then only the fingers of the character will be controlled by the Hand Mocap Device,
while the rest of the bones will be released and controlled by the Body Mocap Device.

If you use Perception Neuron with its Gloves for Body Mocap and Hand Mocap,
the bones from the arms to the fingers will be completely controlled by Perception Neuron.
