Transferring Characters in FBX Format
- Export a character from iClone or Character Creator in FBX format.
Make sure Use Subdivided Mesh is activated to
export the character with smoother surfaces.
Export FBX panel in iClone.
Export FBX panel in Character Creator.
- Make sure to have installed Auto Setup and Character Creator UE Control Rig plugins in Unreal Engine.
- In the Unreal Engine, create a new folder and click the Import button in the
Content Browser.
- You will be prompted to choose the shader types. Choose the
HQ Shader radio button and click the OK button.
If you skipped step 2, this dialog box won't appear. If that's the case, it's advisable to start over from step 1. - The FBX character will be imported into the Content Browser with
proper materials applied.
- You can then apply a CC control rig for the skeletal mesh.
