User Interface Introduction for Refine Face

Refine Face Panel - Edit Control Point Mode

A

Parts

Toggle to determine which part of the face you want to edit. The unselected parts will not be shown on the work area and changes won’t be applied when using Preview / Apply Current Part.

  1. Skull: Control Point toggle for Skull.
  2. Eyes: Control Point toggle for Eyes.
  3. Eye Extras: : Control Point toggle for optional eye types.
  4. Nose: control point toggle for Nose.
  5. Nose and Nasal: Control Point toggle for Nose and optional Nasal.
  6. Lips: Control Point toggle for Lips.

Selection Tool (Q)

Switches to select mode for picking control points.

Camera Manipulation
Tools

  • Zoom(Z): Used to zoom in and out of the scene.
  • Pan(X): Pans the camera.
  • Focus(F): Press to zoom on the selected control points.
  • Reset View: Reset the camera to default point.

Reset Tools

  • Reset All to Last: Undo the last modification on all control points. You can expand the icon with the arrow on the side to reset All to default.
  • Reset Selected to Last: Undo the last modification on selected control points. You can expand the icon with the arrow on the side to reset Selected to default.

Mirror Tools

  • Mirror: Toggle Mirror mode. All modifications will be mirrored to the opposite side.
  • Mirror Right to Left: Copy all control points on the right and mirror to the left.
  • Mirror Left to Right: Copy all control points on the left and mirror to the right.

Bézier Tools

  • Break Curves Handles: Splits the Bézier handles so each side can move freely, making sharp or angular corners.
  • Unify Curves Handles: Links the Bézier handles together so they move symmetrically, creating a smooth curve.

Show / Hide

Show / Hide all control points.

Control Point Size

Changes the size on the control points.

Control Point Opacity

Changes the visibility of the control points.

Work Area

  • An indication tip to show where you should put the control points. To understand better for Control Point placements, please refer to the page Front Face Control Point Placement Guide.
  • Drag and position the control points to refine the face mesh.

Preview

Click to Preview the mesh created with the current control points.

  • Preview Current Part: Preview the mesh with only the control points in the selected parts.
  • Preview All: Preview the mesh with all control point modifications.

L

Apply

Click to directly apply the created head mesh back to the character in the viewport.

  • Apply Current Part: Apply the mesh with only the control points in selected parts to the viewport.
  • Apply All: Apply the mesh with all control point modifications to the viewport.

Viewport Settings

Change the view for better observation.

  • Show / Hide: Toggles the visibility of the generated mesh.
  • Flip: Flip the Visible area of the mesh along the visible area slider.
  • Topology Render: Render the topology reference on to the head mesh.

Mesh Opacity

Adjust the opacity of generated mesh for better alignment.

E

On-Screen Visibility Area Slider

Drag to adjust the visible area of the head mesh.

F

Edit

Return to Refine Face Edit mode.

G

Apply All

Apply the mesh with all control point modifications to the viewport.
