CC3 Base+ Characters (New for v3.3)

In Character Creator v3.3, the new CC3 Base+ base character is introducted in order to support Digital Human assets. Under the Digital Human system, improvements have been made to the character's mesh, UV, and skeletal rig for enhanced realism. In the process, the body mesh has become much easier to sculpt, with tools like Zbrush.

The benefits of using CC3 Plus Characters are:

  • Topology / Mesh Enhancements: Evenly-distributed quad face and perfect edge-loops allows for smooth deformations during animation.
  • UV Optimizations: Head UV includes areas of the neck. High details for the nose, lips, hands. UDIM layout for easier single-pass texture baking.
  • Skin Rigging Improvements: A-pose as the bind pose and also supporting T-pose. Enhanced skin-weights for animation and pose refinement.
  • Content Updates: Contains new eyes structure and morph sliders for the Eyelashes and Nails.
  • Conversion and Compatibility: CC3 Base characters will be auto-converted to CC3 Base+ characters.

In Character Creator, there are 4 compatible base characters: CC1 (for Character Creator 2 and earlier version), CC3 (for Character Creator 3), Game Base (for Character Creator 3), and CC3 Base+ (for Character Creator 3) characters. Basically, most features can be applied to these three types of characters. However, there are still some differences and applicable features for them.
