Importing Model to Create Static 3D Prop

Character Creator allows you to convert any 3D model file into a static 3D prop (.iProp), regardless whether the model is bone-skinned rigged or animated.

The supported file formats for this pipeline are FBX and OBJ:

To convert model to static prop

  1. Load a model file in the format previously described.
  2. Click the Prop button in the Import Fbx panel.
  3. You will be asked to split the model into sub-props if it is composed of multiple meshes.
    • Yes: The imported prop will contains sub-props. The sub-items under the prop are the nodes that can be displayed in Character Creator and iClone.
    • No: The imported prop will be merged as one prop. The sub-items under the prop are simply the mesh names that can only be displayed in Character Creator (not in iClone).
  4. The model will be imported into Character Creator as a prop.
  5.  Optionally modify the nodes of the model:
  6. Export the entire model as a new prop (.iProp). You can apply the new prop into iClone for building the scene or creating animations.
