Importing Model to Create Static 3D Prop
Character Creator allows you to convert any 3D model file into a static 3D prop (.iProp), regardless whether the model is bone-skinned rigged or animated.
The supported file formats for this pipeline are FBX and OBJ:
To convert model to static prop
- Load a model file in the format previously described.
- Click the Prop button in the Import Fbx panel.
- You will be asked to split the model into sub-props if it is composed of multiple meshes.
- Yes: The imported prop will contains sub-props. The sub-items under the prop are the nodes that can be displayed in Character Creator and iClone.
- No:
The imported prop will be merged as one prop. The sub-items under the prop are simply the mesh names that can only be displayed in Character Creator (not in iClone).
- Yes: The imported prop will contains sub-props. The sub-items under the prop are the nodes that can be displayed in Character Creator and iClone.
- The model will be imported into Character Creator as a prop.
- Optionally modify the nodes of the model:
- Adjust Transform Data - Change the RTS data of the prop.
- Pivot Section - Modify the RTS of the pivot.
- Adjust Normal
- Modify Material
- Adjust Transform Data - Change the RTS data of the prop.

Export the entire model as a new prop (.iProp).
You can apply the new prop into iClone for building the scene or creating animations.
