Embedding Timecode into Mocap Clips

The Motion Live plugin enables the integration of timecode data into motion capture clips to ensure precise synchronization during editing and facilitates alignment with other media assets.

  1. Choose the Master Clock.
  2. In iClone, create a new project and set the scene with one or more characters.
  3. Open the Motion Live panel. Connect to your active mocap devices.
  4. Setting the TCFPS for the capture devices (24 fps recommended).
    Also refer to the synchronizing with the FPS of the mocap devices for more information.
  5. Activate the Full-Frame Recording (Timecode) checkbox and set the Master Clock to the one chosen from step 1.

  6. Click the Record button to start recording.
  7. When the recording is done, open the timeline and hover your cursor on the captured clips. Their timecode will be revealed by the accompanying tooltip.
  8. To reposition the clip to the correct timeframe and synchronize the project start frame to the clips, right click on the clip and choose Align Clip and First Frame to Embedded Timecode.

    The project's first frame will be aligned to the clip's timecode.
  9. Playback to view the result.
