Character Scalability (New for v. 4.1)

Character Creator offers the most amount of options for character artists and designers with the CC character base. CC characters can be made from imported humanoid character or auto-rigged static models. On the output front, one can choose to subdivide and export CC characters for high-resolution rendering, or decimate the geometry for mobile applications and crowd simulation.

High-poly characters

Most skin-rigged characters can be subdivision-rendered in their native environment, but almost none of the subdivided characters can be exported in FBX/USD and rendered in other applications, especially with facial morphs. To make CC a universal character solution, Reallusion made subdivision export possible for all rigged quad-based characters.

Low-poly characters

Unlike InstaLOD which downsizes the poly count and textures, Character Creator provides the Convert Character Level feature to decrease not only the poly count and texture size, but also the number of bones. This can tremendously improve the response time for playback due to the efficient size of the entire character, and opens up a range of possibilities, from film production, game design, to mobile/VR, and even massive crowd simulations.

Convert Character Level only works with standard characters (not props, creatures, or humanoid characters).
